Dvojno jezero leži na 1669 m nadmorske višine. Gre za dve jezeri (Peto in Šesto Triglavsko jezero), ki sta ločeni z morenskim nasipom, ob visokem vodostaju pa se združita v eno jezero. V barvi njune vode prevladuje odtenek akvamarina, v katerem odsevajo okoliški gozdovi in vrhovi. Največja globina jezera znaša 8 m. Med Dvojnim jezerom in umetnim jezerom Močivec leži koča pri Triglavskih jezerih, ena izmed najstarejših planinskih postojank na Slovenskem.
