I giganti buoni

Good late-season encounter reported by PWF Ocean Ambassador Herb Hartmann, "It's a girl! We found a very surface active mom with a calf today on Ocean Discovery. The calf cooperated by doing an inverted tail slap which let me get some good pictures to ID the calf as female. The mother did multiple fluke up dives and even a head slap. She had a very distinct pattern of what appear to be scars from past orca attacks on the underside of her tail. All visible in these photos."
