Heyy Carbs People! It’s time for an explosion of pasta and sugar from Rome! The restaurants in Rome were amazing, and the people were so kind to foreigners…even if they had to be patient with us.😂
Highlights
1. Lasagna (pic 1): A creamy tomato heaven! The pasta layers were so thin and perfect.🤤 Fun fact, Rome doesn’t put ricotta/ mozzarella cheese in their lasagna, and I didn’t miss it!!
2. Gelatos (y’all know which of these pics look like icecream 😎): Yeah, there’s a reason that Italy is known for gelatos…I tried the basic flavor (stracciatella: chocolate chips plus vanilla like cream), and I didn’t need any toppings to enjoy! Fun fact, the piled high cartons of gelato with crazy colors may look ‘showy,’ but these places don’t have the best gelato. Look for places with cartons containing a humble amount of gelato with few flavors and colors.
3. Melon and Parma Ham: The dish tasted like it looked, salty thinly sliced meat with sweet melon. Unique combo.
4.Cacio e pepe: My favorite thing I ate at Rome! Picture Al dente pasta with creamy cheese sauce and pepper.🫣 Butter noodles on steroids.
5.Arancina: Fried rice balls and cheese (It’s crushed in my fingers because I was impatient to eat it)!
6. Calamari in a circle! Wasn’t served with tomato sauce, but I still loved it!
7. Jewish Fried Artichokes (brown, burnt flower looking plate): Taste reminded my party of tough pumpkin seeds.
