Feeling blue for
A visual exploration through photography and fashion,
shaping meanings and emotions tied to a color as
powerful as ordinary: blue.
The editorial ‘Feeling Blue’ visually narrates the multi-
faceted nature of the color blue, often associated with
feelings of inner peace and serenity, but at the same time
with loneliness, sadness and melancholy.
This duality becomes emblematic of the complexity of
human existence: not just one emotion, but rather a
plurality, coexisting.
The subject adopts sculptorial, frontal poses that evoke
authority and control, gestures traditionally aligned with
the masculine sphere, transforming into a visual
assertion of strength that subverts the conventionally
passive gaze cast upon the female body.
A choice that consequently also visually disrupts the
conventional association of blue with masculinity, rooted
in childhood, ‘Feeling Blue’ thus becomes not only an
intimate narrative of emotions but also a manifesto that
questions gender norms.
A sentiment reflected by the styling, characterized by
structured garments and an aesthetic that resists binary
classification. Through motion blur, the model becomes
part of the flow itself, leaving behind trails of light and
subtle chromatic variations.
In this emotionally dense, almost liquid atmosphere, the
subject’s identity seems to emerge and dissolve
according to the intensity of the light.
Disruption also carries through the palette, with deep,
cool tones broken by warm accents: a spark of dissonant
emotion within the visual narrative.
The photos then becomes an embodiment of the fluid
and ever changing nature of blue: an everpresent color,
in constant transformation right before our gaze.
