URBAN Photo Awards is an international photo contest that has come to its 12th edition. URBAN looks for talent and quality both among professional and amateur photographers, offering them a world wide platform from which to get noticed. Promoted by dotART, a Trieste (Italy) based cultural association with years of experience working in the field of artistic photography and the visual arts, every y

ear URBAN draws thousand of partecipating pictures and hundreds of participants from all over the world. It is an always growing international contest, one of the very few that goes β€œover the boundaries” of Internet offering to photographers real visibility through dozens of international photo exhibitions. Only in 2019 URBAN realized 50 exhibitions displaying about 1.700 pictures. Behind it all, there is always the pursue of enhancement of photographic talent and quality.

Now in its third consecutive edition, the award celebrates the legacy of Patricia D. Richards (1951–2022), an American photographer and educator who used photography as a tool for social investigation, documenting the transformations of American society for over forty years and giving a voice to communities often at the margins of the dominant narrative. ✨

By entering the Projects & Portfolios category, you will be able to compete for the Patricia D. Richards Legacy Award, have the opportunity to exhibit at Trieste Photo Days, one of Europe's most important international photography festivals, and present your work in a collective exhibition alongside authors from all over the world. 🌍

The category is dedicated to photographic series, reportages, thematic portfolios and narrative projects built through multiple images.

⚠ All Under 35 photographers entering this category are automatically considered for the award, with no additional application required. ⚠
