On a recent trip to Italy, we stopped by the beautiful and quite smelly :) but picturesque..Venice.
It is without a doubt an experience I would recommend to anyone as they say it could go under if sea levels keep rising!
But apart from that, it would remind you of a decaying Disneyland like, fake worldish waterpark! if that makes any sense :)

If your ever in Italy, make sure you visit the Naples National Archaeological Museum. Its considered the most important Italian archaeological museum and one of the most important in the world for classical and particularly ancient Roman archaeology. Mindblowing place!
