1.610 days ago Max and I dropped the anchor here and explored this beautiful and unique area by foot. Now we are back with our camper van and our two dogs, Knox & Levi.
~
A lot has changed since then: We are a little older, welcomed two new four-legged family members to our crew, bought a VW Transporter and had it transformed into a vacation home on 4 wheels. Nice to see that so many of you stuck with us over the past years. Did you miss us!?
~
Side note: We've decided not to name the van MAKANI. Actually we've decided not to name the van at all. Instead we changed our social media handle to - meaning that we will take you with us everywhere & wherever we go with the van. Starting with Sardinia - our first longer trip with our finished home on 4 wheels.

We have big news: MAKANI IS SOLD.
~
Like you can imagine, selling your own sailboat is an emotional thing that's far from easy. It takes time and a lot of your energy. This is partially the reason why we didn't post anything for a while. We had to say goodbye and to deal with the emotions that came with that. Sorry, that you had to wait!
~
Now that the hard part is over, we couldn't be more relieved. We are super-happy with the new owner. A classic sailboat is not for anyone and it takes a certain type of sailor to take on a project like that. She's in great hands now and will soon be off to new adventures.
~
As for the two of us: Until we are ready to start working on our next big adventure-project, we'll keep you entertained with throwbacks to our time exploring Europe from the water. So many stories yet to be told! 🥳

[K] I remember the first time, Max & I visited Venice together during our sailing course. I kept thinking, that if I'd ever get a motorboat it would be something like this. An italian classic. Super-fast and super-chic.

And those are taxi-boats, if you can believe it! Venice is so freakin' glamorous. 😂

First time visiting Venice during high tide, or Acqua Alta like the locals call it.

A very strange thing to watch the water coming out of the ground, but the city was well prepared and as sailors we know that after a few hours it would be back to 'normal' again. 🤪

BTW: The antifoul paint once again didn't disappoint! Hardly any growth after nearly 7 months of cruising the Mediterranean Sea. We love the product. So much that the guys from get this free advertisement from us ... 😜
