Welcome Service for New Students St. George’s College Class 2031
I was a windy afternoon and the Holy Trinity Cathedral was buzzing with excitement and activity as parents were seen making the final adjustments to their son’s outfits.
Some 240 young Knights were welcomed into the fraternity.
Principal Mrs. Margaret Campbell related the long legacy of the STGC association in her family. Her grandfather, father (a former headmaster), her husband, all her brothers and her son attend St. George’s college.
Fr. Rohan Tulloch encouraged the parents to give their sons space to grow. He reminded them that word can build and destroy the spirit of growing person. Choose words to encourage and guide.
Vice Principal, Mr. Huntley Anderson and Head boy, Alexander Bailey, encouraged the new comers to get involve in the activities. Find your passion.
STGC Old Boys Association President, Mr. Ray Wong, spoke of the long history of the Jesuit institution and STGC’s contribution to national development.
Brother Pablo Velasquez, Jesuit scholastic, did a great job in directing the service. He was supported by our sixth form student leaders. The service was complemented with joyous sounds from the music ministry.
The journey has started young Knights. Armour up with the shield of Faith!!
