Seeing from a new angle.

The stress of finals is really getting to me. Wishing so hard I was back in Japan on vacation.
Iyashi no Sato (いやしの里) is a former farming village on the western shores of Lake Saiko. The village was destroyed by a landslide in 1966. Forty years later, the village was reconstructed with traditional thatched roofed houses.
These thatched roofed houses require constant care and maintenance. The photo is of caretakers smoking the house to present pests and moisture from deteriorating the roofs.

Japan's rich culture and innovations never ceases to amaze me.

With the Lunar New Year here, it's time for some stuff. So I tried my hand at shooting some fireworks today!! First time with lots to learn still. Here is wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year!!!

Day 6: Traveled to the magical land of Mickey Mouse and Friends for the first time in my life. Tokyo Disneyland was definitely a highlight to my trip. From Splash mountain to Monsters Inc. it was a day filled with fun and laughter.
P.S. The parades in the winter heading up to Christmas are simply beautiful and not to be missed.

Day 5 (cont'): Aside from Enoshima Island, we visited the Great Buddha of Kamakura and explored the streets via the Shonen Fujisawa Electric Railway.

The railway runs beside the beautiful shoreline and between residential buildings where you can see a different part of Japan.

What was left of the Autumn colours also provided an amazing sunset and beautiful yellow leaves on trees that look like flakes of gold.
