Just back from a trip to Japan, a country I’ve wanted to visit for a long time.

Glad we made the trip to Hiroshima, though it is impossible to comprehend the extent of the suffering caused when that bomb exploded above the city at 8.15am on the 6th of August in 1945. A very moving trip.

Each to their own but, personally, not a fan of posing in front of a memorial. The girl in red was just passing through when I snapped the shot.

9 years ago today, flying to Reykjavik, I looked out the window thinking ‘St Kilda must be out there somewhere’ and there she was, peering out from under the clouds.
