One of the traditional connections between the gods and the people of Japan is sake, a traditional rice wine that can really sneak up on you if you give it the chance. Before you is a giant collection of decorative sake barrels or Kazaridaru at the Meiji Shrine. These barrels are donated to the gods by sake brewers across Japan.

The windmill town of Zaanse Schans, provides us with a look into life in the 18th and 19th century's. The town is filled with traditional homes, warehouses, workshops, and of course windmills. During this time, the region of Zaan was filled with hundreds of windmills that produced goods such as linseed oil, s***f, mustard, paint, and paper. Today many of the will mills in the town are open to the public and are visited by nearly a million visitors a year.

Very rich in different types of marine life, La Jolla Cove in San Diego is a must to visit. Although the sea lions who congregate here may have have a distinct smell, they are an amazing site to see. Just north or south of the cove are two small gritty sand beaches, where you can surf, boogie board and otherwise hang out near the ocean.

Meiji Shrine in Tokyo is one of the most famous Shinto Shrines in Japan. This shrine was built in the 1920s in order to honor the soul of Emperor Meiji. His time as emperor was significant since the rule of Emperor Meiji marked Japan's path to an industrialized super power. Today it is visited by tourists and locals alike. In fact, it is a very popular place for traditional Japanese weddings, and it boosts a beautiful inner garden.

At the center of Brussels, lays the Grand Place. This beautiful golden square houses the city's town hall and several opulent guildhalls, not to mention a huge flower market at its center. It even has a bit of a dark side to it. If you ever find yourself in Brussels, this is definitely a place to see.
