I have not posted in ages and this is my debut for the year starting in pink. This exhibition highlights the Cherry Blossom season of 2025, of early April here in Tokyo. This shoot is of the illumination of the bloom along the Meguro River. Lit in pink everything was pink and the bloom itself being pink even the air seemed to be pink.

I have had this affinity for birds and flight ever since I was a little boy, and even today I am still fascinated by that marvel, the airplane. I know this resonates with many of you out there. This massive tube of so much weight can be launched and it flies, through the skies with a precision that bewilders us even more. We know as soon as we take off just about when we will land over 10 hours away. Well all this technology came from these creatures called birds. I shot these near my home a couple days ago. These wer taken a couple weeks ago at Kegon Falls in Nikko, a popular town for tourist that is roughly 180 km from Tokyo, a 2 hour drive in mild traffic. This year it is teeming with guests from abroad, and those numbers are set to increase, as the value of the yen continues its decline. The Hawks (tombi) of Minamiboso Japan are on my mind today. I find it fascinating to shoot these creatures as they patrol the skies largely along the coast, looking for prey. They are swift, forever in fierce engagement with their rivals of the skies, the crows, (karasu) They are good gliders and so I can practice my camera focusing skills, which worked rather well in these here presented. This was done in September during the heat of summer and they bear testament to that was you see, I suppose, they're in panting mode, mouths open. Also fascinating to me is the natural technology that we humans have well adopted to improve airworthy travel from these birds. Every feather has a function, the tucking of the feet, where the eyes are located, everything.

"Fire in the Sky🔥" Just a few minutes ago on this placid Sunday 22 September 2024 @ 17:45 I shot this right outside my house here in Tokyo. In a moment of consensual arson, God just lit the sky ablaze and let it rage. It was fleeting and it also whispered for just a few seconds before God quickly put it out. It was the most dynamic sunset I've experienced here.

The Koenji Awa odori festival was last weekend, typically the last weekend in August signifying the end of Summer, and with a typhoon threatening it was interrupted on this Saturday night, but the attire and as I have said before, they, the women look absolutely gorgeous and because of the defiance of what we have traditionally as westerners, define as sexually appealing or attractive, that traditional attire is defined by accentuating no curves, an unusual gait, a uniformity, tight and probably uncomfortable Kimono garments that makes everything flat. Every year I am fascinated by this display of beauty.

More on my discovery of Takaosan or Mount Takao, the Shinto and Buddhist site in western Tokyo on 4 July 2024. In these serene surroundings not only do we find Killer bees or the Tsuzumebachi as they are called here, but we find enchanting buildings and a siting of what I have yet to understand, the Shinto religion and Buddhist religion occupying one site.

Seaun in Laguna Beach California some 6-odd years ago in the first two; Gams pensive; the creature that would make some shudder that is as gentle and avoiding as a butterfly who is more interested in the butterfly as a meal.
