Not long before the couple first contacted me asking to shoot their wedding, I had already decided that my next one was going to be my last… I hadn't done that many (well, more than a few, but not as many as other photographers I know), but there is a particular brand of responsibility and accompanying stress that is entailed in shooting what will be a pretty huge memory in the lives of the couple you're shooting. And, to be honest, despite not having encountered any major problems in my short-lived wedding photo run, it was becoming increasingly weighty for me and I figured it was time to get out and try to get back to doing more photography for myself.

Thankfully, the last couple in question were friends, which makes it a perfect way to exit on a positive note… A great couple and a fantastic assistant (many thanks, Miyuki!)

Here are just a few of the images we made together…thanks to all the couples who trusted me with their respective "big days". (Special thanks to Chris and Tomomi for giving me my big break!)

Got home 1:00am from an all-day shoot, and it was fantastic. First real shoot in a very long time, so straight up--I started out having to shake off the rust… But as the day progressed, I steadily got back into the zone, especially with the help of an awesome, first-time-working-together assistant and a fun and endlessly patient couple who were great fun to shoot.

Can't share any previews, but am very much looking forward to eventually being able to share some of the wonderful images we made together!
