Going upcountry to see my grandma did something to me I didn’t expect. The moment I stepped into her compound, smelled the firewood and saw that red soil, I was no longer the grown man chasing deadlines and dreams — I was that barefoot boy again, running around without pressure, laughing for no reason, listening to her stories like they were gold.

Sitting next to her now, I felt the weight of life slow down, and it reminded me that no matter how far I go or how much I build, that small place is my foundation — it’s the love, the lessons, and the simplicity that made me who I am today.
