Built on the west bank of the Nile River, the site of Abu Simbel is one of the most recognizable ancient sites in Egypt.

It contains two temples, carved into a mountainside, that were built by Pharaoh Ramses II, also known as Ramses the Great.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and this place is very beautifully shown in the famous movie - Death on the Nile.

And whats left of it is now one of the greatest archeological treasure on earth. It also hosted a huge theater arena with the capacity of 25000 people.
