My work has been shortlisted for the Streets of Archives virtual photography exhibition, and I'm also pleased to say, it is work that is never before seen. I really loved the submission requirements for this exhibition because I finally got to submit architectural images -- images of buildings, in short :)

Take a moment to check out the exhibition via the link in bio. As it turns out, I am the only woman photographer exhibiting from Kenya! My work looks pink. There is your clue ;)

Thank you for this opportunity, good people over at Unpublished Africa. 🙏🏽

And thank, you, as you take the time to go through my and other works from African photographers.

Let's make Africa seen, by Africans, for Africans, and then for the world.

B O N E S: Figure A

These images represent my pioneering strides in photographing my passion for medicine.

I got access to an anatomy laboratory to photograph anatomical specimens. I wanted to take photos of anything medical, and I started with taking photos of bones.

I used black soot paper as my backdrop, natural light and a shallow depth of field. The natural light came from the window next to my setup and the shallow depth of field was to compensate for the inability to use artificial light. I photographed these specimens all while breathing in air filled with formalin. I also wore a white laboratory coat during the process. I enjoyed myself, and this is a production I am redoing in a more controlled environment: so that I can also use a deeper depth of field.

To see the rest of my images from this project, head over to my Behance link in bio (B O N E S), and whilst you're there, please remember to hit that like button. :)

Please consider supporting my artistry by buying a print. Fine art prints available. Please DM or email for inquiries.

Wow Madam. Thank you for being an inspiration.
