It is with delight that I present new work created during my KYOTOGRAPHIE African Artists Residency last year!

During this residency, I immersed myself in Japanese textile craftsmanship, working with masters like Kondaya Genbei who made the kimono used in this particular artwork.

Historically, textiles have been a meeting point for many cultures, with the influence of trade, global events, and the intermingling of traditions woven into their fibres. In More Than Half, I bring together the two worlds of Japan and Kenya to speak about one’s place in a community and present a world where belonging is not granted by resemblance, but expanded by existence.

I cannot wait to share this new work (and some Camo!) with you!

Come and see ‘Camo’, Presented by , at Kondaya Genbei Chikuin-no-Ma opening 18th April.

“Between true friends even water drunk together is sweet enough.”

A Sisterhood of Dreams

Recently I’ve been reflecting on women’s relationship with water. Women are often the custodians of their family’s water supply, but beyond the rhythms of daily life, women still have an intimate relationship with water.

Among women, water and rejuvenation are often synonymous for it is with water many of their rituals of self-care are performed.

Where there is water, a community of replenishment gathers. Around its calming surface, women find release, connecting with friends and strengthening relationships; stories are told, burdens shared, dreams voiced and memories traded.

For a woman, water goes beyond a chore; it is a vital point of connection to her community of sisters.

Come and see ‘A Sisterhood Of Dreams’ at from 5-8th Feb, booth F04 with . I’ll be there to say hello! 👋🏾

If you’re in Mexico, head over to from 4-8th Feb to see some of my new work from Clouds Bring Blessings.
