This past Sunday was Orthodox Easter. I had a session out of town and didn’t partake in festivities, however, I was reminded of Paisios and Marina, who were not born into the {Greek} Orthodox faith, yet found their way; on their own time. I thought of how a number of things had to align ever so perfectly for them to arrive at the next chapter that now feels like home.
In a world that’s moving ever so quickly, that’s constantly on and constantly loud it’s important to embrace the quiet moments and journey that lead you to where you truly belong. Sometimes that path isn’t crystal clear. The outline is there, but it feels foggy. Sometimes it is crystal clear but the timing is off.
This post isn’t about religion.
It’s about change. It’s about seasons.
It’s about appreciating what once fulfilled you and the life you led while acknowledging its purpose has come and gone. How what lies ahead may not always be clear, but you know you cannot stay in the same rooms, having the same conversations with the same people any longer.
You can either stay stagnant and comfortable or you can look at yourself in the mirror and choose the unfamiliar because deep down inside you know what’s comfortable isn’t necessarily what’s best for you.
With choosing growth over comfort, there comes loss. With that loss comes grief. Mourning people, places and relationships you thought you’d have forever most certainly takes its toll.
But how beautiful it is to know that something so incredible lies ahead? Around that winding road, just out of reach of the old. Reminding you, IF you stay put, you’ll never know what is out there waiting…for you.
There is “home” for all of us. Choose your people and your path wisely. 🫶🏼
