I swear to you, before we left everyone told us how easy it would be to ship things home 😩 we had read the tariffs had a big impact on this but we weren’t sure how bad and naturally, we decided to find out 😅

We each bought a few clothing items in Seoul and also decided to ship home some instant film photos we had taken and shoes that we felt we ultimately didn’t need for the remaining 9 months on the road.

DHL was definitely the easiest option and it was comparable in price to what we got quoted from a lesser known shipping company.

Our stuff arrived safely and quickly, but there is a price for that. Watch the video for the breakdown and everything the cost included!

The Seouldal is a helium powered tethered balloon that brings you 130 meters above Seoul! It’s the best and easiest way to get panoramic views of the city 😍

No lie, I was low key freaking out about this but I felt totally safe on the whole ride. From start to finish it’s only 15 minutes long, but such a thrilling ride.

Two hot tips:
1) pre book a time if you want a popular time bc they do sell out
2) leave your pro camera at your place because they don’t allow them on the ride 😅

Are Ha Long Bay Cruises overrated?

We personally LOVED our experience and 10/10 thought it was worth the money (we paid $319 for one night for two people).

With that being said, a definite hack here is to have some sort of dietary preference. It was no extra cost for us, but we got meals cooked specifically FOR US because we eat plant based. To be fair, the buffets looked good too, but if I was eating buffet food while others got catered meals I think I’d be giving a little side eye 👀

Also, the people definitely will make or break this experience. We got so lucky and made friends on our cruise right away so we had a blast whether it was with the guests or the boat crew.

Either way I think this is one of those things you do for the plot. Would I suggest flying to Vietnam solely for a Ha Long Bay cruise? Maybe not. But it’s a great add on to a trip for sure 😍

America, take notes please.

These train stations in Seoul are another level tbh. They’re incredibly CLEAN, spacious, have free public bathrooms, and some like this one have activities like pianos you can play, or beautiful art exhibits or plant installations. Going to miss these badly when we’re back on the NYC subway one day 😭🤣

Medical anxiety is the WORST and as someone who historically has been through the American medical system wringer, I was very nervous of something happening while abroad.

Apparently the world wanted to teach me not to be afraid though, because 3 weeks into our 10 month trip, I needed emergency dental work. Being in pain and having a persistent issue while traveling isn’t ideal, but I’m so glad this happened while in Korea. Of course not all countries have the level of care that Korea does, but it definitely proved to me that I don’t have to be in America to manage any medical issues. It actually showed me I’m prob better off NOT being in America based on how kind, understanding, and affordable the foreign doctors were.
