Organised by the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), Cutting Edge ’26, held on 30 June 2026 at BMICH, is the institute’s flagship annual event, bringing together student innovation, industry engagement, technology, business, media, competition, and e sports within one platform.

What began as a project exhibition has grown into a multi dimensional experience featuring ProjExpo, tech talks and panel discussions, CodeQuest, Legends Arena, and iTV. Held under the theme Beyond Every Known Boundary, Cutting Edge ’26 celebrated ideas, talent, and collaboration that extend far beyond the classroom.

UNISTEM Campus proudly celebrated its Convocation & Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2026 on 28th June 2026 at the Main Conference Hall of BMICH, commemorating a significant milestone in the academic journeys of its graduating class.

The ceremony honoured graduates who successfully completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes awarded by the University of Northampton, UK, alongside recipients of the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) Level 5 qualifications awarded by Pearson, UK. The event recognised the graduates’ dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence throughout their educational journey.

Midnight Gala – APIIT Freshers’ Night 2026 brought together the newest members of APIIT Sri Lanka for an unforgettable evening of celebration, friendship, and new beginnings. Organized by the APIIT Student Council, the event was held on 26th June 2026 from 6.00 p.m. onwards at the Grand Lawn, Waters Edge, creating the perfect atmosphere to warmly welcome the incoming batch into the vibrant APIIT community.

The night was filled with entertainment, music, and memorable moments, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for the freshers while fostering connections and strengthening the spirit of unity that defines student life at APIIT.

Vivace Brass ’26, the much-anticipated annual musical concert of the Senior Brass Band of Devi Balika Vidyalaya, was successfully held on 12th June 2026 from 3:30 p.m. onwards at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Colombo.

The event brought together some of Sri Lanka’s leading school brass bands, with performances by Visakha Vidyalaya, Royal College, Thurstan College, Gothami Balika Vidyalaya, Carey College, Ranabima Royal College, Anula Vidyalaya, and Musaeus College, alongside the host school, Devi Balika Vidyalaya.

Adding prestige to the occasion, renowned Sri Lankan music duo Bathiya and Santhush graced the event as Chief Guests.

The evening celebrated exceptional musical talent and spirited performances, with Gothami Balika Vidyalaya being awarded the title of Most Talented Girls’ Brass Band, while Royal College secured the award for Most Talented Boys’ Brass Band.

Vivace Brass ’26 proved to be a remarkable showcase of youthful musicianship, dedication, and the enduring tradition of brass band excellence among Sri Lankan schools.
