Road to Chinese: Light Day Salon 2022
The Confucius Institute at University of Colombo gives a hand to Chinese language undergraduates on the experience of Chinese culture Road to Chinese: Light Day Salon. 46 undergraduates from the University of Colombo were actively consulted by Sri Lankan Lecturers and Chinese experts from the Confucius Institute at the University of Colombo for teaching and learning, and under the leadership of the teachers, they immersed themselves in several traditional Chinese cultures including calligraphy. Through warm interaction and sharing, students deepened their understanding and shared friendship and shared the vitality and charm of Chinese traditional culture in the innovative inheritance and development. Prof. Wimal Hewamanage, Sri Lankan Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Colombo, attended the event and delivered a speech.
The workshop demonstrated to students, to understand Chinese characters to communicate and perceive the story of the development of characters. Chinese characters are like very exquisite works of art, and they are unique and intoxicating. Then the Sri Lankan Lecturers took them to experience Chinese character writing and shared knowledge about delicious food, and heated discussions about home-cooked dishes from China. At lunchtime, all the students had a delicious Chinese meal, which made them experience the breadth and depth of Chinese home-cooked dishes and Chinese food culture.
