𝙃𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙖, 𝙎𝙧𝙞 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙖

Anuradhapura is indeed the first capital city of Sri Lanka, situated in the North Central Province of the country. It holds significant historical and cultural importance as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Anuradhapura served as the capital of Sri Lanka from the 4th century B.C. until the 11th century A.D., spanning over a period of more than a millennium.

Today, Anuradhapura is a UNESCO World Heritage site and attracts both local and international visitors who come to explore its historical treasures and soak in its spiritual ambiance. The city stands as a testament to Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage and serves as a pilgrimage site for Buddhists.

𝗔 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘆𝗮, 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮.
Located in the northern extremity of the Matale district, Sigiriya has a striking geological profile, being a rocky outcrop, in the northern semi-highland zone. It is one of Sri Lanka's ancient political capitals and most sensational archaeological heritage site that has also been listed on the World Heritage List. 😊❤️

𝓛𝓮𝓽’𝓼 𝓰𝓸 𝓽𝓸 𝓚𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓸𝓬𝓱𝓬𝓱𝓲 𝓫𝓮𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓰𝓸𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓝𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓱

When I was working in Kilinochchi, I visited some places at that time. One of the Famous place to visit is the Iranaimadu Tank. Iranaimadu Tank is located 8 km from Kilinochchi Town and it’s one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Sri Lanka. Many tourists start visiting the Iranaimadu Tank on their way to the North of Sri Lanka. Iranaimadu Tank provides irrigation facilities to the people around Kilinochchi district. Most of the people living in Kilinochchi depend on agriculture for their livelihood. This tank is a blessing for those people to do two crop farming.

Another historical place is the Kilinochchi Lumbini Viharaya located in A9 Road 2kms from the Kilinochchi Town. While the historical Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was traveling from Jaffna (The Port of Jambukola) to Anuradhapura, Ven. Sangamitta Mehenin and her group along with King Parakramabahu II stayed on the first day, and it was the first place in Sri Lanka where a branch of Sri Maha Bodhi was planted.
