I recently had the opportunity to capture a portrait of the endemic Stoddart’s unicorn lizard, which is widely found in the central hills of Sri Lanka. My goal was to showcase its true colors and intricate scale details, and I believe I achieved that with this photograph.

Although traveling into Sri Lankan forests for the last few months has brought us incredible experiences, i was unable to tell about them on my page due to the busy life. Here are some good memories from our last journey to Peak Wilderness sanctuary. The best experience on this journey was we were able to see one of the super rarest frogs of Sri Lanka. Gilimale Forest Reserve is a rich biodiversity near to the Peak wilderness sanctuary. We spent two days exploring & capturing endemic herpetofauna & birds in the forest; some of the them are uploaded below.

However, what i observed during our stay was that the precious environment was affected hugely by human contact, & the necessary steps of conservation have not been taken. As a Sri Lankan, It’s our responsibility to step forward & protect ecosystems with great diversity like this.
