Today is World Elephant Day and I have approximately a million elephant photos that I love and that I could share today. From Kenia to Sri Lanka and the desert adapted elephants of Damaraland.
So why this image? Because it brings back so many memories of an amazing afternoon spent in a photography hide in Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. We all loved seeing them from such a different angle, up close and personal. We could hear them playing in the water and rubbing butts with their pals. The best thing was a little one practicing its trumpeting right next to us.
Spending time in a photo hide is one of my favorite things to do on safari!
I could show you the resulting images but today is also Eclips Day and we are busy preparing for that to start in an hour or so. I’ll post the elephant photos from the hide another time!
