🌕 The arrow was never loosed.
Over 2,300 years ago, on a Poson full moon, King Devanampiyatissa chased a deer up the mountain of Mihintale. At the summit waited Arahat Mahinda, son of Emperor Ashoka, who called the king by name, “Tissa.” He didn’t ask for the king’s bow. He asked for his mind. The king lowered his weapon, and Sri Lanka found a new way to see the world.
That is Poson, the day compassion came home. 🙏
This Poson, may the light of the Dhamma fill your heart.
