For the past years, one thought has been weighing on my mind. It started when I began testing AI driven curation tools to see if they could truly match the human eye. For a long time, I wrestled with a question: why are so many photographers so excited about these programs? I watched colleagues celebrate the speed of automation, while I kept feeling like something fundamental was being lost. I struggled with the idea of handing over the most important part of our creative process to a machine...
I spent year putting these tools to the test. I wanted to understand if technology could genuinely grasp the narrative of a wedding. And...
The software worked efficiently, and technically, it did exactly what it was designed to do. Yet, I remember the long nights spent re-curating entire galleries because the AI had rejected photos that meant the world to the couple. It dismissed the shot of the bride dancing with her eyes closed, completely lost in the music, because it lacked 'sharp focus.' It discarded the photo of a grandmother’s hand resting on the bride’s shoulder, simply because it didn’t 'understand' the emotional context of that touch. It threw away shots where the focus was on the veil dancing in the wind or the motion of confetti, while the couple was beautifully out of focus...
The AI saw 'errors' and 'blurry files.' I saw the atmosphere, the connection, and the soul of the moment. Curation is not just a technical task - it is our responsibility as storytellers. It is our job to see what no machine can feel, to select the moments that define a soul, and to weave them into a narrative. We are here to tell a living, breathing story!
We refuse to let your memories become a cold, disconnected collection of images. This is why we curate every story manually. Yes. It takes time. But time these days is one true value. Your story deserves to be treated with a human heart.
Artistry cannot be automated!
