My first trip to the Pari Daiza zoo here in Belgium near where I live. I was able to use the new telephoto (Sony FE 200-600mm) lens to grab some shots. I was in a black & white photography mood today for some reason.

I had the privilege of visiting the American Cemetery in Luxembourg yesterday to honor the fallen this Memorial Day weekend. Please take time to remember the fallen and always never forget their sacrifice. 🇱🇺🇺🇸

I haven’t posted on FB in a while mostly because I have been sticking to Instagram. Here are a couple of photos of my weekend getaway to Leuven, Belgium. I didn’t get to do much photography on the first day since it poured rain but I was able to grab a few shots this morning on the way out of town.

Here is another shot from our trip to Namur, Belgium this weekend. This is the Capitol of Wallonia; the Southern, French speaking portion of Belgium. This photo was taken on a River walk along the Sambre River. Namur is definitely worth the trip.

Decided on back to back weekend trips. This weekend we went to Namur, Belgium. This is the Capitol of Wallonia; the Southern, French speaking portion of Belgium. This photo was taken on our walk up to the Citadel. The river is the Sambre River and that dome on the right is the Cathedrale de Namur, or Saint-Aubain de Namur. We had a great time and hope to return once restaurants are open for dine in.

Here is another shot of our day trip to Durbuy, Belgium on Saturday. I thought the vine work on the buildings was rather interesting in this part of the town. This place is known as “The Smallest City in the World” with a population of 500 and dates back to 14th century. Nestled in the Ardennes, this little mountain town is beautiful and definitely worth the trip.

The family and I snuck away Brugge, Belgium the day after Christmas to catch a glimpse of the Christmas lights. Unfortunately, no Christmas Market but Brugge is such a beautiful city no matter what. Hopefully there will be a market next year once we overcome this pandemic.

Another shot of the Christmas display at the Grand Place de Mons in Mons, Belgium. Although it may look like a Christmas Market, there was no hot chocolate, GlĂĽhwein, or even waffles available. Hopefully next year once COVID is under control.

The Christmas display at the Grand Place de Mons in Mons, Belgium. Unfortunately, it was not much of a Christmas Market like last year due to COVID-19. Hopefully by next Christmas we will be able to have the full experience. Nonetheless, it was still a beautiful display of lights.

Here is another shot of the ruins of Villers Abbey in Villers-la-Ville, Belgium. This doorway was really interesting to me with the lighting. Especially the tree branch full of yellow fall leaves at the very end that seems to be almost lit up. The sunlight was also super golden which really complimented the texture of the bricks. Villers Abbey is an ancient Cistercian abbey founded in 1146.

The ruins of Villers Abbey in Villers-la-Ville, Belgium. Last time I tried to check this place out, it was closed. Thankfully it was open today and the weather was beautiful. This was also the first outing with the new Sony A7III. This camera is amazing! This photo was shot at ISO 6400 and there is hardly any grain. Excellent in low light for sure. Villers Abbey is an ancient Cistercian abbey founded in 1146.
