I understand now why some places feel sacred before they even speak.

Just before sunrise, Lake Tamblingan was completely silent.

Mist slowly rising from the water. Fresh mountain air.

And then suddenly, beams of golden light breaking through the hills as if the whole lake had been waiting for that exact moment.

No crowds. No noise.

Just nature putting on a performance that lasted only minutes, yet somehow stays with you forever.

This is the Bali I keep falling in love with.

Quiet. Mysterious. Untouched.

A side of the island that asks you to slow down long enough to actually feel where you are.

You know me: I love bold colors and a proper sunrise, but honestly, no photograph will ever fully capture what that morning felt like.

At first glance, you see a traditional Balinese dancer.
Then you notice the sunglasses.
The kretek.
The attitude.

And suddenly, the portrait becomes something else entirely.

Dadong Ketut Nurasih embodies grace and tradition, but also individuality.

I loved this moment because it felt honest.
A woman fully comfortable in her own skin, still doing things her own way.

Maybe that is the real beauty of aging.

3AM. Questionable life choices… or the start of something magical?

We dragged ourselves out of bed in the middle of the night, half asleep and fully committed, chasing that soft Bali sunrise at Lake Tamblingan.

Feet in the cold water.
Balancing in a tiny wooden boat.
Camera in hand, holding it firmly...I am clumsy, okay...and there is a lot of water around me.

Misty air, golden light slowly breaking through, and that quiet kind of chaos that somehow turns into pure magic.

Would I do it again?
Ask me at 3AM next time 😅

They call him “the boy with the blue eyes”… and yes, his eyes are striking. They are like thousands of galaxies exploding. The kind of eyes that make you pause for a second longer.

But Ketut is so much more than that.

There’s a softness in him. A quiet gentleness that doesn’t ask for attention. The way he carries himself, the calm in his presence… it stays with me.

Moments like this remind me why I do what I do. Because sometimes, behind what first catches the eye, there’s an entire story waiting to be felt.

And with Ketut, I have no doubt—his story is only just beginning, and it’s going to be a beautiful one.
