First dive of 2026.
Last Saturday turned into a quiet self-reliance dive day, as my usual dive buddy was busy running open water courses.
The first dive was on the SS Suddadhib (Hardeep) wreck.
Strong currents made things interesting — buoyancy took extra focus, silt moved easily, and the nudibranchs were anything but still. Clean shots weren’t easy, but that was part of the challenge.
The second and third dives were at Aow Khai, where I went fully solo.
I dropped to around 12 metres hoping to spot Shaun the Sheep nudibranch, but no luck this time. Instead, I spent the dives with glass tail anemone shrimp — not what I planned, but still worth slowing down for.
No rare finds, no rush.
Just a good day underwater, building confidence and enjoying the quiet moments that solo dives tend to give you.
