One of my all time favourite and most inspirational photographers is Yousuf Karsh, famous for creating some of the most powerful portraits of the 20th century.

For this photograph, I was inspired by Karshโ€™s iconic portrait of Ernest Hemingway and decided to create my own interpretation, with Arsene as my sitter.

I wanted to recreate the strong lighting, deep shadows and dramatic simplicity of Karshโ€™s original portrait.

It was a great experience studying the work of a photographer I have admired for years and trying to recreate a small piece of his magic. โœจ ๐Ÿ–ค
