A Different Light

Ta’ Lorettu Chapel, Malta 🇲🇹

This was captured during a partial solar eclipse over Malta. Although the eclipse itself wasn’t visible from this particular inland location, its presence seemed to influence the atmosphere, casting an unusual warmth across the sky and surrounding landscape.

The golden light, ancient rubble walls and the silhouette of Ta’ Lorettu Chapel came together to create a scene that felt both timeless and unique.

Sometimes, the most memorable photographs aren’t about capturing the event itself — but about capturing the subtle way it transforms the landscape around us. 🌅

The Old Man of Storr never tells the same story twice. Every angle, every shift of light, and every passing cloud transforms the landscape into something new. After many miles on the trail, moments like this make every step worthwhile.

Standing on the rugged cliffs of southern Malta, I watched the first light of day break across the horizon, illuminating this remarkable sea stack and the dramatic coastline around it. The crashing waves, the soft colours of dawn, and the stillness of the morning created a moment that felt both powerful and peaceful.

Nature doesn't rush, yet it always arrives at the perfect time."

"Sometimes the best scenery isn't found on a map, but discovered while wandering in search of light. As the sun slipped behind the lone tree and chapel, the Maltese countryside was painted in its final golden glow—a quiet reminder that nature's finest moments are often the most fleeting."

Glencoe where mountains whisper & stillness speaks in every reflection, nature reminds us to pause, breathe & simply be. That what landscape photography helps our mental health to be in does right moments.

"One of my goals with this composition was to emphasize depth and scale. The layers of rock, light, and fog draw the eye through the frame, while the lone hiker standing high above the valley provides a powerful sense of perspective against the dramatic landscape of the Old Man of Storr."

There’s something about standing on the edge of a landscape that reminds you how small you are—and how vast the world really is.

Captured at the Old Man of Storr, I framed this shot to add a sense of scale and depth, placing a lone figure against the sweeping curves of land, water, and sky. The layered light breaking through the clouds gave the scene a quiet drama that felt almost otherworldly in the moment.

For me, this image is less about the location itself and more about that feeling of perspective—the pause, the stillness, and the reminder to take it all in.

Chasing fog and finding something timeless.

The conditions didn’t promise much, but as the mist rolled in, the landscape transformed—revealing just enough, hiding the rest. The Old Man of Storr stood there like a guardian of the highlands, emerging and disappearing with every breath of cloud.

This is why patience matters in landscape photography.
