“They expected her to pray for deliverance, but she was only listening for instructions. Lost in a haze of damp earth and blinding sunbeams, she felt the ancient magic of the roots settle deep into her bones. Her fingers curled against the air as if already wrapping around the rough bark of the wooden stake she would soon carve. This was her baptism into the dark ways, a silent, cinematic pause before the chaos. She stood perfectly pure in the blinding glare, knowing it would be the very last time her gown would ever be white.”

“Before the blade, there was the waiting. In the first frame, she lay suspended in the quiet cradle of the woods, draped in a white gown that had never known a blemish, a compliant lamb left to sleep under the dark canopy. But the forest breathed its malice into her, and by the next moment, she was on her feet, moving through the trees like a sudden change in the weather. The lace of her gown caught the rising fog as she spun into the shadows, no longer running from the hunt, but stepping into the rhythm of it. She was choosing exactly where the sharpened wood would pierce his skin, ensuring the white of her dress would be completely rewritten by nightfall.”

“It wasn’t a crime; it was a transaction. He had stolen her youth, so she took his life. The flat daylight offers no mercy to the scene, a woman in a ruined white gown, holding a dripping heart aloft like a dark chalice. Beside it, she grips the jagged wooden stake, its pointed tip still wet with the proof of her vengeance. The old gods don’t judge the weapon; they only admire the kill.”

This shoot was an absolute blast to create, and this is just a tiny sneak peek of what we cooked up. The full set is going to be wild.
