The art of the outdoors has always been a part of me since I was young. In 2012, photography was for me simply a hobby. During a year spent in Glasgow, the amazing scenery and nature inspired me to delve deep into the art that is photography. It was at this point in which I upgraded from a point and shoot camera onto a Canon DSLR and finally to a Canon 80D. In addition to shooting landscapes, I try to make the most of photographic opportunities during my travels to various historic, natural and urban locations. One of the cities which is close to my heart and very photogenic is Paris. It amazing skylines, unique monuments and historic locations and architecture make it truly a photographer’s paradise. Currently, I live in Mellieħa, Malta where I currently work as a Financial Risk Manager. In addition to my love of photography, I occasionally practice light athletics which helps after long days stuck behind a computer. What does Photography mean to me? Photography to me is a mean of expression, a way of capturing places which one would not usually experience or possibly not have visited before. Some areas of the Maltese countryside are not easy to find and are easily overlooked by those who are not acquainted on the area. My aspiration is that through photography I would be able to bring to light certain areas which are unknown to the majority of people. It is only through awareness of existence of such locations can one aspire that these are taken care of, else incurring the risk of permanently losing them.
