The debate over horses carrying tourists through Mdina and Valletta continues, but few people ask what happens to them after more than 20 years of work.

We visited an NGO in Malta that gives over 40 retired horses a second chance. But today, the organization is facing a serious crisis: the farm has been without water and electricity for more than eight months.
