Green iguanas are large lizards, typically green, but can also be brown, black, or even take on orange or pink hues during certain times of the year, especially in males. They have a distinctive row of spines along their back and tail, a prominent dewlap (throat fan), and a long, tapering tail.
Habitat:
They are native to Central and South America and parts of the Caribbean.
Diet:
Green iguanas are primarily herbivorous, feeding on leaves, flowers, and fruits.
Unique Features:
They possess a "third eye" on the top of their head, which is sensitive to light and movement and helps regulate their exposure to sunlight and reproductive cycles.
