Visited the Turner Valley Gas Plant. Driven by it for years never realized it’s a Provincial and Federal Historic Site. Yes it has both designations. Its role in the Oil and Gas Industry spanned decades (1914-85). Although closed down you can walk amongst the site with a guide. Quite the story!

Another week of irrigation blowouts in the books. Six days of flat out, over 15,000 steps a day. Used to work all year, take a week off to do this, now I come back to work for a week!

Finally after driving past the Bar U ranch several times over the years we stopped. Interestingly it’s a National Park. The Bar U Ranch is the only Parks Canada-administered National Historic Site that commemorates the importance of ranching to Canada. Founded in 1882 as the Northwest Cattle Company, the Bar U was one of the first and most enduring of the large corporate ranches established in southern Alberta. Grabbed a few photos but lots of interesting displays. .canada

Just surpassed 100 nights in our trailer this year. Doubt we will make the 180 last year but 150 for sure! Hanging out in Blanket Creek PP for the next 2 weeks!

When your cousin asks if you want to go old school and run a 1967 JD 5020, how can you refuse? No a/c, no radio, no fancy seat or cooler, just pure power! One of the finest tractors Deere put out.
