One minute, we were in the quiet stillness of the morning, capturing the bride wiping away a happy tear in soft window light, and the next, we were surrounded by the gentle ocean breeze at the garden gazebo. The setting was pure magic—that iconic turquoise Caribbean backdrop paired with the elegance of the resort gave us the perfect canvas. CENOTE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

There are wedding venues, and then there are spiritual experiences, and this day at Eco Aldea Hats'uts was definitely the latter. Just twenty minutes from the bustle of Playa del Carmen, we descended into the jungle to find Cenote Hatsuts, a breathtaking open-air sinkhole that feels ancient and untouched. Watching the couple stand on the wooden platform floating above the deep, dark water for a traditional Mayan ceremony was mesmerizing. The air was thick with the scent of copal smoke as the shaman blessed their union, the sound of the conch shell echoing off the limestone walls. It wasn’t just a ceremony; it was a powerful connection to the earth and history, framed by hanging vines and the lush canopy overhead.

After the intensity of the ritual, the day shifted into a vibrant celebration of the local culture and the couple's effortless style. I loved the contrast of the groom’s sharp blue suit and the bride’s boho lace and tattoos against the wild green backdrop. We didn’t just stay in the jungle, though; we embraced the full Riviera Maya experience, stopping at a colorful roadside fruit stand for fresh coconuts and laughs before heading to the coast. From the mystical energy of the cenote to the salty breeze and seagulls at the beach, this wedding was the perfect mix of deep spirituality and laid-back Caribbean adventure.

CANCUN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Tucked away amongst the lush greenery of the resort’s gardens, the Gazebo at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun offered a stunning, modern sanctuary for this ceremony. It was the perfect balance of tropical ambiance and privacy, surrounded by swaying palms but set back on solid ground rather than the sand, giving the event an elegant, structured feel. The clean white lines of the architecture beautifully framed the couple as they exchanged rings and shared a powerful, prayerful moment with their families. There was such a genuine warmth in the air here; the garden setting made the vows feel incredibly intimate, allowing the focus to stay locked on their radiant smiles and the deep emotional connection that anchored the day.

Once the sun set, the energy shifted from serene to soulful as they brought a piece of heritage down to Mexico. The reception exploded with the vibrant tradition of the Second Line-style umbrella dance, turning the ballroom into a parade of pure joy. Watching the couple twirl those feathered umbrellas while leading their guests across the floor was a visual feast, the motion and excitement in the room were palpable. We even managed to sneak away to the pier for a dramatic portrait against the moody ocean sky, but the highlight was undeniably that dance floor: a celebration of culture, love, and high-energy fun that proved you can take the tradition out of the States, but you can’t take the soul out of the celebration.

There is something undeniably cinematic about a wedding in the heart of Mexico City, especially when it starts with the timeless tradition of getting ready at the bride's childhood home. The morning had this beautiful, quiet anticipation—capturing those soft, intimate portraits by the window—that exploded into style the moment they stepped into that vintage Mercedes. Cruising through the chaotic, vibrant streets of CDMX in a classic car decked out in florals was such a vibe; it felt like a scene from an old movie. It was the perfect transition from the intimacy of the house to the grandeur of the church, setting a tone of old-world elegance that carried through every mile of the city.

Then came Ex Convento de San Hipólito, and honestly, this venue is in a league of its own. The sheer scale of the high stone arches and the dramatic lighting created a backdrop that was both historic and electric. Photographing the reception felt like shooting inside a piece of living history, but the energy was anything but old-fashioned. As soon as the formal dances were done, the room absolutely erupted. We went from high-fashion editorial shots under the colonial architecture to a full-blown fiesta where the bride was owning the dance floor. It was that perfect Mexico City mix: deeply traditional, visually stunning, and an absolute riot of a party.

SPAIN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Flying in from the States to get hitched in the middle of Catalonia’s olive groves and vineyards is a serious power move, and these two pulled it off effortlessly. Mas Mateu is basically a playground for a photographer; instead of dry earth, we had these incredible, lush green grass fields and twisted olive branches that naturally framed the couple without us even trying. We ditched the stiff posing and just took a walk through the vines and lawns, letting that famous golden hour do its thing. The light here hits the leaves differently, it’s warm, textured, and makes everything look like a cinematic dream, especially when the couple is just laughing and strolling across the grass with their golden retriever leading the way.

What made the day feel so authentic was that they completely threw out the traditional rulebook and prioritized having a good time. We actually started the day at the pool, capturing fights and cannonballs long before anyone thought about putting on a tuxedo. It set such a relaxed tone for the whole event, shifting from wild splashes and sunbathing to those quiet, moody moments getting ready by the window. By the time the ceremony started, all the nerves had been washed away in the pool, leaving just genuine excitement and a laid-back energy that carried us right through to the party.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION PLAYA DEL CARMEN

Who says engagement photos have to be strictly on the sand? 🌴 We took to the vibrant streets near 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen to capture the real soul of this city, and it was absolute magic. From the iconic murals to navigating the colorful chaos of the local markets, this session was an explosion of color and culture. I love when couples are down to explore, dodging tourists, trying on hats, and finding those hidden artistic corners, which make for photos that feel so much more alive and authentic than a standard pose.
