Polémico desde inicio por su estética que rompe con lo tradicional, especialmente en una colonia residencial como Chapalita, el edificio de departamentos para la Familia Verduzco es un ejemplo de la arquitectura funcional pero retadora de Félix Aceves.

Stonework!

Recently I've got the opportunity to challenge myself to carve, entirely by hand, Nixtamal mill stones. The stones are “tezontle negro“ a volcanic rock derive from magma. This stones are essential for grinding the nixtamilized corn in the making of proper tortillas.

I have heard that the "Picador de piedras de molino" ( mill stone hand-carver ) is a dying trade in México, it did not passed onto me by generations, but it will be great if I can contribute to its preservation and tribute.

Currently the existing stones are shaped in Mexico and brought to Japan, but I'm enthusiastic to find the rock and be able to produce them locally.
