There are places that are beautiful…
and then there are places that carry centuries in their bones.

These bridal portraits were created at the breathtaking Quinta Real Oaxaca — once the Convent of Santa Catalina de Siena, founded in 1576. Today, it stands as one of Mexico’s most grand and storied accommodations.

But before it was a luxury hotel.
Before it held wedding celebrations.
Before I ever picked up a camera.

It witnessed generations of women pass through its corridors. Walking its cobblestone hallways, I can feel history reverberating through the stone.

And the spot featured here — “Los Lavaderos” — was once a place where for centuries women gathered, worked, and shared their daily rhythms beneath open skies.

Hundreds of years before us.
Hundreds of years after us.
The thought is humbling.

As someone with deep Oaxaca roots, creating here felt different. Personal. Sacred. Like an artistic homage to my heritage and the traditions that shaped it.

So many women have stood in this space.
And now, this radiant bride — stepping into her own legacy.

This is why I believe wedding imagery matters.

These aren’t just portraits.
They are history in the making —
a visual record of love that will live beyond us.

It is a privilege to call Oaxaca my second home.
It is an honor to create in a place so rich with story.

And it’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly —
to preserve yours, wherever your love story unfolds. 🤍

The deep, steady, forever love.

I feel wildly lucky that my career lets me witness love stories up close —
the real ones, the joyful ones, the teary-eyed promises and champagne toasts.
It is an honor to stand in rooms filled with so much heart.

In the laughter that breaks the nerves.

The details are beautiful — yes.

Nicole + Joseph’s intimate Eureka Springs wedding had all my favorite things… connection, intention, and the sweetest little four-legged guest of honor. 🐾✨

Archie — Nicole’s tiny white pup — followed her every step of the day in his little tuxedo, watching over her like it was his full-time job. And honestly? He stole my heart.

There is something so special about including the ones who have loved you through it all. Pets aren’t just pets. They’re family. They’ve seen the tears, the joy, and the quiet in-between moments throughout the years… and it just feels right to have them there when you celebrate the start of your new season. After all, is a new journey for them too!

Huge love to Amy from VS Events for planning such a beautiful, intentional celebration. Every detail reflected Nicole and Joseph so well — intimate, heartfelt, and full of meaning.

If you’re thinking about including your pup in your wedding day, here are the top 5 tips for keeping it a fun and stress-free experience:

🩶 1. Let them hang out while you’re getting ready. It keeps them calm and gives you the sweetest candid moments.

🩶 2. Spruce up their collar — or if they’ll tolerate it like Archie did — let them dress for the occasion. A little accessory goes a long way.

🩶 3. Assign a trusted family member or wedding party member to be their chaperone for the day. This is key.

🩶 4. Keep their favorite treats nearby during portraits to help keep their focus. (Bribery works. 😉)

🩶 5. Give them time to get their excitement out. With so many new faces, they’re bound to jump for joy. Have a Tide pen and belly rubs on standby.

There’s just something about early spring at Osage House. 🌿✨

The light is effortless and golden in all the right ways. The team serves with such intentional care — not just for their couples, but for every vendor who walks alongside them.

It’s a space with enough character to feel unforgettable, yet enough flexibility to be reimagined for each couple’s story.

Advice from your photographer friend…

Life doesn’t pause.
But we can return—
to the joy, the tenderness, the becoming.

Print the moments that shaped you.
Hang them where life happens.
Let your walls remind you of the love you’ve lived.

Following my own advice, I spent a few hours updating the gallery wall in my office— images of my husband, my family, the days that made me who I am. Bailey, my constant companion, keeping a close eye on things.

My heart felt full.
A quiet reminder of why images are so powerful.
They help us feel.
They help us remember.

And for me…
they’re a reminder of why I serve,
and the legacy I’m helping my couples build. So that one day, they too can feel the power of being surrounded by a collection of the BEST days. 🤍

This winter light, these clean and timeless moments, the emotion that lingered in the air — it was an honor to witness it and to preserve it. To hold space for something this sacred is never lost on me.
