πŸ“· Same film. New box.

For the first time in over a decade, Eastman Kodak is selling some of its consumer film directly again β€” straight from the factory instead of through Kodak Alaris. New boxes, the classic red logo, same film inside.

Three that have made the switch πŸ‘‡

🎞️ Kodacolor 200 β€” the relaunched everyday colour stock. Was ColorPlus, now Kodacolor (same film β€” confirmed by the edge markings on the roll).
🎞️ Kodak Gold 200 β€” the warm, golden classic. Same emulsion, fresh vintage-style box.
🎞️ Kodak UltraMax 400 β€” the flexible all-rounder. Same film you know, new packaging.

✨ The bottom line: labels get redesigned, the film inside doesn’t. Same warm colours, same grain, same quiet thrill when the scans come back.

πŸ’¬ Which one’s your everyday roll β€” Kodacolor, Gold, or UltraMax?

Eastman 5222 is always our favourite black-and-white film stock.
We prefer underexposure (around 1-2 stops according to lighting), which can yield richer tones while keeping shadow detail.

What’s your preferred exposure setting for black-and-white film?

πŸ“Έ Did you know? The same film stock can look completely different depending on how you expose it!
Here’s a test shot with Kodak ColorPlus 200, from +6 stops to -6 stops.

🎞 Film has a limited latitude, and even a small shift in exposure changes colors, details, and grain.
πŸ‘‰ Swipe to see the difference from overexposed to underexposed:
β€’ Correct exposure: natural colors, balanced contrast, full detail.
β€’ Overexposed (+2, +4, +6): highlights blown out, lower contrast, washed-out look.
β€’ Underexposed (-2, -4, -6): darker tones, cooler colors, heavy grain.

✨ Tip:
Accurate light meter is very important!
If you’re unsure about exposure, it’s usually safer to overexpose slightly (π‚πŸ’πŸ 𝐜𝐨π₯𝐨𝐫) rather than underexpose!

Masai Mara Village Daily Life.
Between red earth and big sky, between sunlight and film.

We have kept some expired rolls of Fuji Pro 400H since it was officially discontinued. Glad they still turned out well.

If it were youβ€”would you keep them in the fridge as a keepsake, or load them up to create new memories?

Important Announcement Regarding β€œRemjet-Free Coated Motion Film”

Recently, we have received multiple rolls of film that exhibit abnormal imaging due to the manual removal of the remjet anti-reflective coating. Such films may encounter the following typical issues after processing:

β–Ά Light leaks Β
β–Ά Dense speckles and abnormal stains on the image Β
β–Ά Irreversible gray fog Β
β–ΆScratches and coating residue on the emulsion surface Β
β–Ά Severe imbalance in imaging contrast and color distortion (color shift) Β

These issues stem from unconventional handling of the Remjet coating during the third-party film’s production or distribution process. This conductive coating is an essential component of professional motion picture film, and its improper removal directly compromises the chemical stability of the emulsion layer.

Out of respect for preserving photographic memories, we will still strive to complete the processing service. However, we must inform you honestly: the imaging quality of such films has been permanently damaged, and processing cannot restore the original image quality.

Chasing the beauty of a snowy night with my Nikon Speedlight SB-15. Here’s how to nail your flash photography:
1. Sync Speed: Max for Nikon F4s is 1/250 secβ€”stay within to avoid shutter shade. ⏱️
2. TTL Mode: Automates flash intensity through the lens, perfect for tricky lighting. 🌟
3. Proper Distance: Keep subjects within a few meters to ensure they’re well-lit. πŸ“
4. Adjust Angle: Avoid direct flash for softer light and reduced shadows. πŸ“

Master these tips to enhance your night shots! πŸŒ¨οΈπŸ“Έ
