Hace poco salí a pasear con nuestro perro Félix y a tan sólo 50 metros de la casa vi algo que se movía a toda prisa entre los arbustos. Dejé a Félix en casa y regresé al sitio con mi celular y una linterna.
Cual sería mi sorpresa cuando vi un zorro en los arbustos, un poco tímido, pero no muy asustado ni perturbado por mi presencia. Con la luz de la linterna pude grabar algunos vídeos con el celular.
Cuando hablé con los guardias de seguridad del conjunto, me enteré de que con frecuencia se ven tres zorros. Me dijeron también que hace algún tiempo otro fue atropellado por un carro en la vía principal y que, desde entonces ellos empezaron a alimentarlos alrededor del bosque donde vivimos, para que no volvieran a bajar a la avenida.
Al principio pensaba que los zorros se veían principalmente tarde en la noche cuando no había gente ni mucho movimiento, pero luego supe que llegaban entre las 8:30 y las 10:00 de la noche. Desde entonces bajo todas las noches para verlos y entenderlos mejor.
En Colombia esta especie de nuestro conjunto se llama zorro cangrejero o perruno (Cerdocyon thous). Es también conocida como zorro del bosque, zorro de la madera o bushdog.
El video que subo aquí fue hecho con mi celular. Tengo planeado más adelante compartir más fotos y videos de estos animales tan especiales.

Recently, when I went walking with our dog Felix outside, just 50 meters away from our home I saw something rushing through the bushes nearby. I took Felix home and returned with my mobile phone and a torch to the same place.
I saw a fox in the bushes, a bit shy but not really scared and disturbed by my presence. Using the light of the torch, I was able to catch some videos on my mobile phone.
When I spoke with the security guards of our condominium, I learned that there are frequently 3 foxes being seen in the area. Some time ago another individual was hit by a car down at the main road and since then the guards started feeding them around the forest where we life, so the foxes didn’t go down to the road again. First, I thought the foxes are mainly seen late in the night when people are inside and don’t take out there dogs anymore, but then I noticed that they were mainly around between 8:30 to 10:00 in the evening.
In Colombia this specie is called crab-eating fox (zorro cangrejero o perruno - Cerdocyon thous. The crab-eating fox is also known as forest fox, wood fox, bushdog.
The video I share here was made with my mobile phone and I am looking forward to work on a project with these foxes in the near future and share more photos and videos.

Als ich kürzlich mit unserem Hund Felix draußen spazieren ging, sah ich nur 50 Meter von unserem Haus entfernt etwas durch die Büsche huschen. Ich brachte Felix nach Hause und kehrte mit meinem Handy und einer Taschenlampe an dieselbe Stelle zurück.
Ich sah einen Fuchs im Gebüsch, etwas scheu, aber nicht wirklich verängstigt und durch meine Anwesenheit gestört. Mit dem Licht der Taschenlampe konnte ich einige Videos mit meinem Handy aufnehmen.
Als ich mit dem Wachpersonal unserer Wohnanlage sprach, erfuhr ich, dass in der Gegend häufig 3 Füchse gesichtet werden. Vor einiger Zeit wurde ein weiteres Exemplar unten an der Hauptstraße von einem Auto überfahren und damit die Füchse nun nicht mehr runter zur Straße gehen, begannen die Wachleute, die Füchse in der Nähe des Waldes, wo wir leben zu füttern. Zuerst dachte ich, dass die Füchse hauptsächlich spät in der Nacht zu sehen sind, wenn weniger Leute auf der Straße sind und ihre Hunde nicht mehr ausführen, aber dann bemerkte ich, dass der Fuchs hauptsächlich zwischen 20:30 und 22:00 Uhr zu sehen ist.
In Kolumbien nennt man diese Art Krabben-Fuchs (zorro cangrejero o perruno – Lat. Cerdocyon thous). Der krabbenfressende Fuchs ist auch als Waldfuchs, Holzfuchs oder Buschhund bekannt.
Das Video, das ich hier zeige, habe ich mit meinem Handy aufgenommen und ich überlege, demnächst an einem Foto-Projekt mit diesen Füchsen zu arbeiten und auch weitere Videos zeigen.
