bringing people, places and travel experiences to life through imagery, it is my hope to inspire curiosity in others so that they take that leap, plan that adventure and create their own extraordinary moments. Stop, inhale and breathe in life. Take a moment to be still. Observe the light as it falls upon the landscape. Have empathy for those that struggle. Open your heart. Give gratitude. Share when you can. Love always. Never take anything for granted, especially time - every moment matters. We all have just one chance, make it count. So turn down that dusty road. Share a smile with strangers. Keep adventuring, keep wandering and -
Never stop exploring."

New Lane Hawker Centre | Penang, Malaysia

Penang has a thriving street food scene and the ultimate must-try food is Char Kway Teow. A delicious combination of flat rice noodles and seafood stir fried over flaming hot coals. Crucial to each plate of a great CKT is a well-seasoned wok which gives the dish something called “wok hei” (the “breath” of the wok) – a set of unique concentrated flavours and aromas imparted on the food through the cooking process. Each CKT master has their own wok, often passed down through the generations, and it's only through cooking individual portions at a high heat and with vigorous stirring that the distinct char and flavour of Char Koay Teow can be achieved.

If you're interested in improving your photography in a market setting, and capturing the bustling and vibrant Penang street food scene, come along to my Food Photography Workshop in Penang this Saturday. Market Vendor | Hue, Vietnam

You often find the most interesting faces and characters at local markets.

I used to feel so intimidated photographing people... My introverted nature got the best of me and I shied away from taking portraits. Now, connecting with people and capturing a moment with them is something I enjoy the most. Yes, it’s often challenging, but the rewards are so worthwhile. Even if I don't make an image I like, I'll have that small interaction, that little fragment of time, where I shared a moment with someone. Thankfully, this is one image I do like though. Isn’t her smile captivating?

Very excited to be hosting two food photography workshops soon in Penang Malaysia in conjunction with Hikayat.

This is my third visit to this city, whose charm took me very much surprise and has weaved it's way into my heart. I don't think there's any place quite like it and the food culture here is incredible.

As a photographer, there's no better way to explore Penang than with a visit to the markets!

Kek Lok Si | Penang, Malaysia

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, the iconic Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang Malaysia is transformed into a fairyland of lights. Over 10,000 LED's, neon lights and traditional Chinese lanterns are switched on simultaneously. The opening ceremony always starts with a bang!
📷 The fireworks were a little late to start this year so this image is a two-exposure blend. First image (exposed for the buildings and sky) was captured 7 mins before the lights were switched on and the fireworks began. Second image (exposed for the temple lights and fireworks) at f7.1, ISO 100, 1 sec.

Skyline Views | Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Ahhh Saigon… I have absolutely, head over heels fallen in love with this crazy crazy city.

This view overlooking the rapidly changing skyline of HCMC presents a calm, almost peaceful, city… but once you enter the labyrinth of streets you’re swept away by it’s vibrant energy, a freneticness like no other.

I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface in my two months here… I want to see more, experience more, uncover more.

Everyone I’ve met here has warned me about this place… come for two months, stay 10 years they say. And I can definitely understand why. This seductive city lures you in… it captivates and intertwines, holding your heart close to hers in a fierce grip. And I can’t pull away.

Rush Hour | Taipei, Taiwan⠀

I cannot believe that I've been in for nearly 3 months. The time has flown by. But this is the 1st image I've shared. I've photographed a lot, but living the life is a juggling act. I definitely haven't nailed it yet and I've been doing this for nearly 18 months. I wonder if any of us ever truly figures it out.⠀

I also became a bit disillusioned with social media. It was a hassle, a chore, something I didn't look forward to. I haven't really felt very 'social'. I'm naturally a private person, I don't share very much by default, but I'd like to change that. I want to bring you along with me on this crazy journey. To explore and navigate life in new places, new cultures and with new people.⠀

Plus, I had a bit of an identity crisis with how I want to share my work and my stories. Because I am a slow traveller and I by spending several months in one place, I was unsure about sharing so many images from a single destination. But now I see that the only way to really tell my story, and the stories of the people and places I'm so blessed to meet and discover, is to share everything from exactly where I am. Not where I've been before.⠀

So here's the story behind this image: ⠀

I walk past this bridge almost every day to and from my apartment in the Xinyi Anhe district of Taipei. I know it's where to shoot an iconic shot of at for a classic image with . But the weather in Taiwan at this time of year is super hazy and cloudy by mid-afternoon, the sky is a blanket of grey cloud. So I keep a watchful eye every day. Waiting, hoping, to see if it breaks. This day, it did and I grabbed my gear and set off for the bridge. I arrived just before 5pm and was ecstatic to find 5 already set up. Over the next hour, that number grew to 10 females and just 3 men. By the end of the shoot, with >30 photogs on the bridge, the majority of them were women (watch my story on Instagram to see us all!). I've never been on location where female shooters outnumbered the men and it was so freaking awesome to see us all out there getting the shot!

Taipei is a city in constant flux, with rapid growth and an ever-changing skyline. A short 20 minute walk up Xiangshan, one of the many mountains surrounding this city, opens up to sweeping views. Taipei 101 is still very much the darling of the city, and remains its most iconic building despite the many new skyscrapers appearing on the scene.
