Tuni sundatang

Tuni Sundatang's members joined together to raise awareness on the importance of preserving the endangered traditions and cultures of Sabah's rural communities through music.

Founder Gindung Mc Feddy Sinon began researching and recreating the sundatang, an almost extinct traditional stringed instrument in 2018, travelling to various districts, states and countries in the Borneo archipelago to learn from elders, masters and musicians.

In 2020 he combined forces with Adrian Johnny (drums, sompoton, flute) and Dexter Titok (kulintangan), before they embarked on the journey of Tuni Sundatang as a traditional-contemporary six piece band in 2022 with Dean Oat, Azizi Razlie and Makelvin.

Every nusical aspect brought by Tuni Sundatang is through storytelling without vocals, but through song titles named after local customs, traditions and culture.
