Go for professional retouching or simple editing?
Tbh, this depends entirely up to you and the kind of shoot and concept that you’re trying to go for. Not every kind of photography shoot needs professional retouching but for some like these, it’s more leaning towards a necessity since it requires certain details to be removed and to be enhanced in order to create the best outcome possible. But at times, the best possible outcome can be achieved with simple editing just as well.
There’s pros and cons to both types of editing too.
The pros to professional retouching is that your photo outcome will be out of this world. However, the cons is that it takes a longer time to edit and it costs more to be doing these kinds of editing in comparison to the simple editing.
For simple editing, it’s a pretty straightforward process where you just balance the lighting, exposure, hues/ saturations & tones and colour grading. Nothing too fancy but it’s fast, easy and gets the job done quicker. The con to it, however, is that there might be times when specific targeting of enhancements/reductions/etc might be needed and in the end would still need some professional retouching to help get better results.
All-in-all, you ultimately decide whether or not you want a super polished and finished looking photo(s) or that if you’re okay with the simplicity and want a faster delivery.
