As part of our 2000 Followers Giveaway Project, we’re constantly looking for couples who are open to creating something new with us.
More than just taking photos, we want to understand the story behind each couple, explore new ideas, and bring their stories to life through our creative vision.

A huge thank you to Calvin & Charlotte, our first selected giveaway couple, for allowing us to enjoy, explore, and create this shoot together. And of course, a big thank you to all our amazing partners who helped us bring this entire concept to life. 🤍

A little story from our Kundasang prewedding ⛰️📷❤️

The weather was definitely part of the experience. Chilly mornings and nights, sunny afternoons, and the occasional mist covering Mount Kinabalu. We learned to slow down, rest when the sun was too strong, and head out again when the light was right.

The locals were warm and friendly, the landscape was beautiful, and every day felt a little different.

For outdoor photographers, Kundasang is definitely one of those places we’d love to come back to. Definitely one of our favourite places to shoot.

Before we announced our 2000 followers giveaway winner, we received a message from Ashley that stayed with us 🤍

Ashley and Bryant have been together for more than a decade. They’ve walked through long distance, built a home together, and weathered every season of life hand in hand.

Then, just a week before writing to us, they found out they were expecting 🤰🏻🥹

As we read their story, we knew this was a chapter worth remembering.

Although they weren’t our selected giveaway couple, we simply couldn’t stop thinking about them. So we reached out and offered them a complimentary session anyway, and we haven’t regretted it for a second.

It takes so much courage to share a deeply personal chapter of your journey, one filled with love, resilience, and unwavering hope.
And today… we’re overjoyed to say that their little one is almost here 🥹🤍

Watching their journey unfold has reminded us why we started this giveaway in the first place.

Looks like Part 1 stole everyone’s hearts. 😂
Now it’s time for the real story. Here are a few of our favourite moments from their ceremony, where all the laughter made way for something a little more emotional. 🤍

The original plan was simple: an outdoor ceremony at 6PM.
But at 4:30PM, the rain came.

For a moment, everyone held their breath. The venue team quickly moved every chair under shelter to keep them from getting soaked, while we were all wondering if the ceremony would have to be moved indoors 🥲

Then, at 5:45PM, the rain stopped.

Without wasting a second, the team rushed to wipe every chair dry, guests made their way back to their seats, and at 6PM, everything unfolded exactly as planned. It became one of the most beautiful and emotional ceremonies we’ve ever had the privilege of documenting.

And you know what’s even more incredible?

The rain came back the moment Sirion and Annie walked back down the aisle after their exit. It almost felt like the skies had been holding back just for them. 🤍

What made this wedding even more special was how intentionally they included the people they love in every part of the celebration. Their parents walked them in, there was a meaningful handover ceremony, their nephew proudly carried the rings, heartfelt vows were exchanged, friends shared stories on stage, an unexpected 15-minute dance party broke out after the second march-in, and the night ended with hugs shared with every single guest.

There are simply too many moments to fit into one post.
The laughter, the tears, the embraces, and all those little in-between moments are exactly why we love what we do.

We rarely dedicate multiple posts to a single wedding, but this is one we’ll happily relive again and again. We’re so grateful we got to witness and document it all 🤍

Always a joy to be back at Ciao Ristorante, a venue filled with timeless Italian charm and beautiful architecture. Its classy glass house creates the perfect setting for an intimate wedding ceremony.

What does a slow-paced wedding mean to you?

To us, it means giving yourselves the space to truly be present. To soak in every moment, embrace every emotion, and celebrate wholeheartedly with the people who matter most. Without rushing from one event to the next, you’re able to experience your wedding day as it unfolds, creating memories that last far beyond the photographs.

There may be no such thing as a perfect wedding, but it is one of the most meaningful days of your life. We feel incredibly honoured every time we’re trusted to document a story like this.

Wedding days are not always meant to be packed with schedules and rushed timelines. Sometimes, when we slow things down a little, it allows couples to truly sink into the moment, to enjoy each other’s presence, to breathe, and simply be together. And naturally, that’s when the moments happen.

We often get asked from our couples:
“How do we achieve something like your previous works?”

To us, documentary-style wedding photography is about creating space for real emotions to unfold naturally, it’s not forcing every moment into a perfectly crafted frame. As wedding photographers, our approach comes from observation, anticipation, timing, and understanding people, not simply shooting everything we see.

The messy laughter, happy tears, gentle hugs, fleeting glances… these are usually the photographs that feel the most alive years later.

If you ask us what makes us different, we would say it comes from our background as film students and years of creating our own documentaries. We’ve always been drawn to preserving emotions in their most honest form, while still providing gentle guidance so you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.

At the same time, we still deeply care about light, composition, colour grading, and most importantly, it’s 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜.

Our goal is that these photographs become something you revisit every anniversary, allowing you to relive the emotions of the day again and again.

Current favourite composition ❤️

As far as our previous lovebirds know, we usually start our photography sessions much earlier compared to others. But this time, due to a few hiccups, we started later than planned. The sun was fully out, the weather was hot, the light was harsh, and we couldn’t rely on our usual spots. We had to stay under shades, change our usual routes, and adapt throughout the session.

Yet somehow, this session became one of our favourites.

We explored new compositions, experimented with different camera settings, and embraced a workflow that was completely different from our usual style. Instead of fighting against the weather, we worked with it, and we’re genuinely happy with how everything turned out.

JY and I got to take turns shooting and experience the session together from different perspectives, so we can continue to learn, adapt, and grow together through every shoot.

Photography is more than just a career to us. It’s about serving our couples, creating for our community, and continuously growing through every experience. And above all, we thank God for every good weather and every beautiful session He allows us to have. 🥹

This set really took us some time to curate into these 20 grids, it felt like reliving their day all over again.

A heartfelt first look, and they kept private and this allowed them to fully immerse themselves in the moment during their vows exchange. The tears, the smiles on their faces brought us right back to their big day. Beyond those intimate moments, their bridal party brought so much energy, endless laughter, playful chaos, and unforgettable scenes. These are the memories we’ll cherish forever as their photographers.
