📸 SPS Photography Gathering | Capturing the Spirit of Sarawak’s Cultural Heritage at Niti Daun

Today, the Sarawak Photographic Society (SPS) was delighted to welcome photography enthusiasts, members, and new friends to join us in a photography gathering at the annual Niti Daun Festival, one of Sarawak’s most vibrant cultural celebrations.

Niti Daun is more than just a festival—it is a meaningful platform that showcases Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage, diverse ethnic traditions, artistic performances, local customs, and strong community spirit. Through our lenses, we have the opportunity to document and preserve these unique cultural expressions for future generations.

This gathering also provided an excellent opportunity for photographers of all levels to connect, exchange ideas, share experiences, and learn from one another while exploring the beauty and authenticity of Sarawak’s living culture.

As a photography community, SPS is committed to promoting photography as a medium for cultural appreciation and storytelling. We hope that through activities like this, more people will discover the beauty of Sarawak, appreciate its cultural diversity, and contribute to the preservation of our local heritage.

The Sunda scimitar babbler (Pomatorhinus bornensis) is a species of bird in the family Timaliidae. It is endemic to Sumatra, Borneo, and Malaysia. The Sunda scimitar babbler and the Javan scimitar babbler were previously grouped together as the chestnut-backed scimitar babbler.[2] Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
