🪷 HAPPY WESAK DAY TO ALL BUDDHISTS AROUND THE WORLD 🪷
Today we honor the Birth, Enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known to the world as Lord Buddha.
Born as a Prince of the Shakya Kingdom in Lumbini, Prince Siddhartha Gautama was destined to inherit a throne and become a powerful King. He was surrounded by wealth, luxury, comfort, and privilege. Yet, despite having everything the world could offer, he was deeply moved by the realities of human suffering, aging, sickness, and death.
Instead of choosing a life of power and rulership, Prince Siddhartha made a courageous decision that changed human history. He renounced his royal status, left the palace, and embarked on a spiritual journey in search of truth, wisdom, and liberation from suffering.
Through years of discipline, meditation, self-discovery, and unwavering determination, he attained Supreme Enlightenment beneath the Bodhi Tree and became the Buddha — The Awakened One.
His life teaches us a profound truth:
Enlightenment was not handed to him.
Wisdom was not gifted to him.
He walked the path himself.
If a human being could transform from a Prince into an Enlightened Teacher for humanity, then every human being possesses the possibility to grow, evolve, awaken, and reach higher levels of consciousness.
The truth of the universe is that positive transformation is possible.
May this sacred Vesak inspire us to choose wisdom over ignorance, compassion over hatred, peace over conflict, and understanding over division.
As part of the Multiversalism Global Vesak Initiative, this special collection has been created in 25 languages to honor Buddhist communities and seekers of wisdom throughout the world.
