Shot last night.

Grab your camera and tripod ( not like me who forgot it and had to use my camera case and sand bag!) and see the full moon tonight between 7/8pm at the coast.

No matter how often I witness the rain, it never loses its magic. For a few fleeting weeks each year, this life-giving gift graces the land, transforming arid earth into a lush, green savanna — a fleeting moment of beauty I’m always grateful to capture.

This region, one of the driest places on Earth, lies adjacent to the Namib-Naukluft Park to the east, receiving less than 100 millimeters of rainfall annually. Just three months ago, it experienced one of the driest periods on record. Then, in a single three-hour downpour, 87 millimeters of rain fell. Two weeks later, this is the transformation it underwent.

One evening, a book I hadn't looked at in a while—STORMS by Mitch Dobrowner—caught my eye. Flipping through its incredible images, I was instantly inspired. Just then, I heard the distant rumble of thunder and knew I had to get a shot.

I grabbed my trusty old camera but was in such a rush that I forgot my tripod! Ended up balancing on the roof of my van in the howling wind, trying to stay steady with a moon boot on while the lightning crept closer and closer. Somehow, I managed to capture one shot—beyond stoked! Hope you like it. ⚡📸

Nice to see my work showcasing the beauty of Namibia.

Travelling through Namibia is a journey that mirrors its path to independence. Whether you are exploring the towering dunes of Sossusvlei, the breathtaking coastline of Swakopmund, or the vibrant wildlife in Etosha, Namibia’s independence can be felt in every corner. Every landmark and every road you travel reflects the spirit of freedom and unity that shapes this beautiful country.

Happy Independence Day, Namibia!

Inspired by the work of the late Paul van Schalkwyk and Scott Jon Photography, I too took the opportunity to explore the world from the sky. I have always enjoyed finding gems in places that are from the offset not that interesting but by changing once perspective you see something special, that resonates with the way I strive to live my life.

The Etosha Pan, a vast and dry expanse, waits in silence through months of relentless dryness. When the rains return, they arrive with a steady rhythm that revives the landscape. The once-cracked earth softens and absorbs the water, welcoming the life-giving touch from above. With each drop, a quiet energy spreads across the plain, transforming the barren land into one of growth and renewal. It’s a powerful sight—watching the Pan come back to life, as dormant hopes revive beneath the rain, turning dust into fertile ground, full of potential and growth.

Oculus - 01 is a fine art photograph I created of the World Trade Center Oculus one of New York’s newest architectural gems. The Oculus was positioned as part of the World Trade Center masterplan by Daniel Libeskind and designed by Santiago Calatrava.
The structure's orientation serves as a lasting reminder of the attacks of September 11, 2001. It is in alignment with the sun’s solar angles on each September 11, from 8:46 am, when the first plane struck, until 10:28 am, when the second tower collapsed. Its central skylight fits this alignment and washes the Oculus floor with a beam of light.

The NamibRand Nature Reserve is a private nature reserve in Southwestern Namibia in the Namib Desert. It has more than 215,000 hectares and shares a 100 km border with Namib-Naukluft National Park.
I went to see the golden grass on the red dunes in winter after the good rains earlier in the year.

A view of the Namib-Naukluft Park Namibia.
Situated between the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and the edge of the Great Escarpment. It encompasses part of the Namib Desert, the Naukluft mountain range, and the lagoon at Sandwich Harbour.
