Today is International Albinism Awareness Day.
A day to celebrate, educate, advocate, and raise awareness about albinism.
Albinism is a genetic condition, not a curse, not a punishment, and not something to be feared. Yet many people with albinism around the world still face discrimination, harmful myths, exclusion, and barriers to healthcare, education, and safety.
Today, we choose to celebrate your resilience, your beauty, your achievements, and your right to live with dignity and respect.
People with albinism are not defined by their skin color or visual impairment. They are students, professionals, parents, creators, leaders, dreamers, and so much more.
This day is a reminder that awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to inclusion.
Happy International Albinism Awareness Day.
