The current Emir of Zazzau is His Royal Highness, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR. He is the 19th Fulani Emir of the Zazzau Emirate, a prominent traditional state located in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Appointed on October 7, 2020, by the Kaduna State Government, Emir Bamalli succeeded the late Emir, Alhaji Shehu Idris, who passed away after a 45-year reign.

Key facts about the Emir:Background: Prior to his ascension, he was a distinguished diplomat, banker, and lawyer. He previously served as Nigeria's Ambassador to Thailand with concurrent accreditation to Myanmar.Ruling House: He made history as the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house in 100 years.
